Don, a third-generation Laramie County resident, has dedicated his life to public safety. His 27 years of service at the Laramie County Sheriff's Office, including patrolling the rural areas, retiring as a Captain, and working with all of the county entities, are a testament to his deep and comprehensive understanding of the county's structure and needs. His expertise extends beyond law enforcement, encompassing the broader dynamics of Laramie County.

Don's commitment to the community is multifaceted. He has been a member of Kiwanis for 9 years, served as a board member with Safe Harbor Children's Advocacy Center for 9 years, most of that time as Board Chair, and devoted 25 years to serving and supporting the Special Olympics of Wyoming. In addition to these roles, he serves as an Elder in his church.

He enjoys camping, fishing, gardening, woodworking, and helping his granddaughter Haley with her FFA goats. These hobbies provide him with relaxation and fulfillment, making him relatable and familiar to the community.
