Our Mission
To facilitate the judicial process by accurately and effectively prioritizing, processing, and managing the case files and court records thereby providing reliable information and services to all of those who need it in a timely manner.
The Clerk of District Court is responsible for maintaining the records of all cases filed in the First Judicial District Court dating back to 1890. The Clerk has many duties which include the processing of cases and court ordered payments, as well as the administration of appeals from this court to the Wyoming Supreme Court, and setting up and monitoring all jury trials in the First Judicial District.
Our cases consist of: Civil matters over $50,000 (Judgments, Divorces, Torts, Adoptions, etc.) Criminal Felonies, Juvenile Crimes and Neglect and also Children in Need of Supervision, Paternity and Child Support Enforcement Cases, Probate Matters such as Estates or Involuntary Commitments.
We collect non–child support fees such as Criminal Fines, Criminal Bonds, and Restitution. Alimony is distributed through the Clerk of Court Office.
