Laramie County Commissioners Form Opioid Settlement Taskforce

LARAMIE COUNTY, WY- The Laramie County Commissioners are pleased to announce the formation of the Opioid Settlement Taskforce, a critical initiative to ensure the responsible and effective distribution of funds received from the nationwide opioid settlement. This newly established task force will consist of representatives from law enforcement, healthcare, mental health services, and various community organizations.

The Commissioners believe this collaborative effort will lead to the most efficient, effective, and measurable outcomes for Laramie County residents. By bringing together a diverse group of stakeholders, the task force is uniquely positioned to address the multifaceted challenges posed by the opioid crisis in the county.

Mission Statement: "The Mission of the Opioid Settlement Taskforce is to identify needs, resources, solutions, and services to serve Laramie County residents impacted by the opioid crisis."

The task force will focus on identifying the community's specific needs, allocating resources where they are most needed, and implementing solutions that will have a lasting impact. By leveraging its members' expertise, the task force aims to develop comprehensive strategies that will improve the lives of those affected by the opioid epidemic in Laramie County.

Commissioner Gunnar Malm expressed confidence in the task force's potential to make a significant difference: “This is a unique opportunity to work collaboratively to ensure the most effective and impactful outcomes. We are committed to transparency, accountability, and ensuring that every dollar is spent in a manner that brings about real change for the people of Laramie County.”

The task force will also monitor the outcomes of funded programs and initiatives, ensuring that they are effective and sustainable. Regular updates will be provided to the public, reinforcing the commitment to transparency and community engagement throughout this process.
